Meet the Wigglebutts

Here are our namesakes. We have recently immortalized them in the way of hat designs with our new Wigglebutt Ranch Collection. Bandit, Maverick and Oggie were the original three. Unfortunately, we lost Bandit back in July. That is what led to the new collection. We have since added another Wigglebutt and his name is Remi (short for Remington). His hat is soon to come, so keep a look out. Now, onto the reveal...
BANDIT (RIP)

As I said, Bandit took a trip to the Rainbow Bridge and will be awaiting the rest of us with 'open paws'. He had just turned 15, which was way past his expected lifespan since he was considered a Toy Aussie. He led a great life and brought much joy to our household. He will forever be missed. He received his name based on his colors and my obsession with the '80s. The black and gold/brown immediately made me think of the Trans-Am from Smokey and the Bandit. Also, my favorite car. And I love me some Burt Reynolds. Thus, it was written; he would become the Bandit.
MAVERICK (RIP)

Maverick, our big bear. Supposed to be a mini-Aussie but is more like a full blown version. Still love him to pieces. He is the sweetest and most affectionate dog I have ever come into contact with. Again, my obsession with the '80s and me being a Navy Veteran led to his name. Top Gun is one of my favorite films of all time and the character of Maverick is transcending as we saw recently with the long-awaited sequel. I also liked the play on rebellious cowboy types. I mean, come on... Texas is our home. We already had a Bandit, so why not a Maverick. Mavs is 10 years old, so we hope to have him around for a while longer.
Sadly, Mavs passed earlier this year and went to be with his brother, Bandit. He will be greatly missed.
OGGIE

Oggie looks like a small dairy cow. He definitely needs to lose a few pounds. But it is the black and white that definitely does it for me. He is part mini-Aussie and Border Collie. Border colors and Aussie body. He just turned 9 and was the youngest of the bunch for quite some time. Until recently, of course. His name came from a totally different place. The ship I was on in the Navy was the USS Ogden and it was affectionately known as the Oggie-Dog. That is where Oggie came from. And it is pronounced (Ah)(gi) not (O)(gi). He is the most amazing little buddy to our son and a joy to have in the family. He is the official Wigglebutt since his butt doesn't stop wiggling. LOL!

Our newest addition. He is not even 6 months old yet and is part Border Collie and part Aussie. He is just the opposite of Oggie and has the body of a Border and the colors and fur of an Aussie. He is supposed to be a mini, but I am skeptical. He could be like Maverick and be on the larger end of the spectrum, but we shall see. He is an absolute handful and is testing every single one of my good nerves. Lucky for him there aren't too many. He has been great for Maverick and challenges Oggie. This new version of the Wigglebutts will be a good one. How did he get his name? We toyed with the military aspect and the western aspect and came up with Remington, Remi for short.
